Maybe others knew, but I sure didn't...

My granddaughter, Tia... she asked me to edit some of her Quinceañera photos the way I edited one previously. So I wondered, how to copy the edits from the edited photo to additional photos without spending a lot of time trying to recreate something from January photos. The photos were shot in the same room, same light, similar composition.

As it turned out, I edited the photo with Snapseed on my iPad Mini, so I started digging. I found My Looks... in the Undo/Redo menu.
    IMG_1562.jpg

On my iPad Mini, I saved the Look, but I wanted to edit on my iPad Pro, so I used the QR Look option to copy the saved look to the photos on my iPad Pro.

I think looking forward this could be a useful tool for me.

I knew about Looks, you are supposed to be able to copy other people's looks via a qr code.

What I've not found yet is any sites where there are qr codes to copy to import other people's "looks" into your Snapseed app.

    Anyone found any sites???

Thanks Jilly, I'll give them a try........only problem is you need either 2 iPads or an iPad and an iPhone as you've got to use one to qr the image on the other!!!!

I've used the "Copy last edits" feature many times, and love it. But will have to check out this new thing... in the meantime, I'm bookmarking this! :D

Been playing with this and produced a look that is pretty much my base fix for the majority of the pictures I process in snapseed. It's ambience, structure and tonal contrast for reference. Uploading it here in case anyone wants to play.

Maybe we should create our own mobitog snapseed seed bank.

Considering snapseed is a mobile only app, the sharing of looks is badly thought out or maybe I haven't quite understood it fully.
Open this thread on a screen. Open snapseed and go on qr look and then scan qr look.
Scan the qr code and that should do it I guess.

Got it. It worked... but they should create a way to save these looks so you can use them again. There is an apply last edits, but if you do some editing inbetween you've lost them.

After you scan the QR code, it gets applied to your current image, replacing any previous edits from the current session. Once it's been applied, you can Save Look (from the same menu where you find Scan QR.)

Because sinnerjohn referenced something in a mobicolour thread no one, including google, except terse seems to get I wondered if this was a reference to a snapseed look.
Long story short I began looking for shared looks and searching for what's developed over the last 6 odd months since this thread started. I've found very little. There's a hashtag with a handful of qr codes on instagram, nothing obvious on flickr, a hand ful of sites reporting the development of snapseed looks and that google images page JillyG linked to up there ^^^^^
On my search, this very page was ranked number 12 with the search terms I used.

Long story shorter, I wonder if the snapseed looks is a bit of a white elephant, an unneeded over-elaboration tacked onto the app but seldom used.

Does anyone use it? I have one look which I shared above but only come across one more I have any interest in.

I use Snapseed a lot but not for creating an overall look, just for tuning up an image. So what I do varies depending on the original image, and having a saved look wouldn't get me there any faster. (I think.)

No, not really. Although it’s quite possible that I give almost the same edit to some of my images, I completely forgot that you can save them for re-use. o_O

Never used it, don't see the point of making every image look the same, or worse, like someone else's image. Each image needs to be nurtured and gently brought into the world, not hit over the head with the snapseed sledgehammer.

So do mobitogers not go for presets? I see whole threads on mobitog devoted to hipstapaks. I've never used a hipstapak but they look like presets, looking from the outside in.
I know I use preset filters sparingly myself and ios users might do the same and I wouldn't really know the difference.
Or am I overthinking the whole thing?
