Join the elite Time Stamp team for Saturday, 2pm, adventures!

The Time Stamp Café is the international meeting place open 24/7. Only the finest selection of beverages and yummy snacks. Drop in and relax a while.

Overview: Participants are invited to make pictures for the Time Stamp project. There is no theme this round. Photograph whatever is happening, or make something happen. However, the catch is that your picture(s) must be made at 2:00pm, your local time, on Saturday afternoon. Post your pictures (up to 3) on this thread. Sit back and await fame and recognition, and maybe a spiffy new virtual award.

If you're new to the Time Stamp idea here's the overview: here at MobiTog we have participants all over the world, in many different time zones. What if everyone made a picture at 2pm on Saturday, of whatever is going on, wherever they happen to be, and share that picture on Time Stamp. We should end up with a global snapshot of what is going on everywhere at 2 pm. This could be ordinary, humorous, puzzling, but it is bound to be interesting. The Time Stamp title comes from the metadata that is added to every new photo at the time it is shot, the creation date and time.

Rules: Please see the Rules and Guidelines for MobiChallenges posted HERE

    • Standard Mobitog image rules apply. Images must be captured/created & edited entirely on a mobile device such as a mobile phone or tablet.

    • All images must be photographed and edited between 2:00pm to 2:20pm, local time. Any editing must be done within that time frame. In other words, don't rely on extensive image manipulation or compositing. These things are allowed, but must be accomplished within the 20 minute window of opportunity. Better to concentrate on capturing a unique moment at 2pm.

Secret tip: This isn't strictly a photo contest. Good reportage or storytelling can get you lots of bonus points. Helping other people discover some place near you is another way to get bonus points. Make a connection.

    • In addition to the regular (up to) 3 images, you are now allowed to post one additional image, if you want to, to help "set the scene". This image should be described as "to set the scene" or "setting the scene", or "the location" or something similar, to clearly identify it because it won't be counted as part of your submission of 3 photos.

    • You are free to photograph something actually happening, or nothing happening, or make something happen, or to create your own image from scratch, as long as it and any added parts or layers are photographed within the 2:00 to 2:20pm window of opportunity.

NEW! Time Shift Exemption: This applies to special events happening 2 or 3 hours outside the usual Time Stamp window. If you think the event is significant enough and that others would like to see it you can claim the Time Shift Exemption and move your 2pm to fit the event. This is a test to see how it works.

Post your images to this thread.

Closing date: entries must be posted no later than 2pm the following day (Sunday). You can post your images right away after making them but if you happen to be in a situation where this is not possible, you have 24 hours.

    • Have some creative fun!

    • There will be a brief Wrap-up, after each event to discuss any observations of things of special interest.

NEW: Each week the person making the next wrap-up will be selected by the current Grand Wrapper-Upper.

Time Stamp is hereby declared an acronym-free zone.

Tips on setting alarms: you can use the Calendar app to set 2 alerts. I like to set the first alert 1 hour ahead in case I have completely forgotten (where's my phone!)(my battery is dead). The second alert I set 15 minutes ahead so I can get ready. You can create a second event at the same time for more alerts! Maybe set your alarm clock to go off right at 2pm to make you jump. Set another alarm to let you know when your time is up.

If you would like to join in the fun, just post a message below saying "I'm in!"

Past Time Stamp favourites, selected by the Grand Wrapper-Upper that week, are on display at the Time Stamp Café Gallery. You can also see a virtual representation of the photos in the MobiTog gallery section. https://www.mobitog.com/gallery/albums/time-stamp-café-gallery.447/

I'm here, or in. That means inside again as well. Earlier today I was outside, but that was like 9 am - 12:30 pm, so the 18 pics I shot don't count. But here is:

A lovely very sunny day today here at Callanish, a cool breeze but it cheers you up to see the sun shining, it’s been a very windy and dreich 10 days...

The trees outside, lots of lichen and moss growing on the wall (and correct to Brian’s theory the lushest is growing on the north-facing side).

I’ve been printing out my May photo a day on my wee Instax printer and making a display at the exhibition.

Look forwards to seeing what everyone is up to at 2pm

Now that’s more like it! A lovely sunny day in The Outer Hebrides. I love the wall and the trees. What a great idea to print off little photos and peg them up. Very effective!

I couldn’t Time Stamp at 2pm because we were in the car. Sorry.:( But I did get some earlier at 12.15 when we were in a Turkish restaurant in Huntingdon (not Turkey ).

Oh dear, my phone alarm got switched off a couple of weeks ago and I keep forgetting to switch it back on. Oh well, I was holed up in my den updating stock information for my sister so really boring anyway. I intended to go to our local garden centre which has just had a major overhaul but time ran away with me. :cheeks:

I was busy staining some lumber prior to it becoming roof rafters in my car port when my 2pm alert went off. Since last week things have really changed.

Daffodils are blooming! Made with the selfie camera, looking straight up.
    IMG_0020.JPG
The Interrupted Ferns have leapt up several inches. Now 8” tall. They look their cutest when all curled up with fuzzy hoodies still in place.
    IMG_0021.JPG
Wood Horsetails have sprung up, still in their fresh green outfits before browning. Their horizontal whorls like tutus, except with more than one, are they three-threes, four-fours, etc.? zenjenny the book says Horsetails are found worldwide, except Australia & New Zealand.
    IMG_0026.JPG
Tiny Wood Ferns are unrolling, still very red at this early stage, later rich green.
All with the Apple camera with close-up lens and minimal tweaks in the Photos app. Found alongside my driveway.

It’s lovely to see Spring arriving in different parts of the world. And it’s nice to see the ferns as they grow. Lovely close ups Brian.

Nice shots all. Maybe that's the way cruets shake hands - after all, we know they're shakers. Any food shots? Grace is second generation Turkish and has many family favorites.

Yesterday it was sunny and around 70ºF, and we took a several hike o na local section of the Metacomet-Moadnock trail (which crosses Massachusetts south to north and ends in New Hampshire.) Today it's in the high 40's and rainy. We were just getting home from a shopping trip when the alarm sounded, hence, the usual around the house pictures.

Looks like you've had a beautiful day weather wise. I hadn't heard of the Instax printer. I like the way it makes your prints look like Polaroids.

It’s intriguing to see how you’ve combined two objects in your first photo to make a new piece of art. All very interesting. When I see your work with Gloomlogue I always wonder why I keep forgetting about Gloomlogue. I must need to move it somewhere more noticeable.

Every time I see one of your lovely Gloomlogue edits I think that I must start using it, and then I forget. I love looking around your home. It’s like an easy episode of Through the Keyhole (do you have that here?).

No food shots unfortunately. Well, I say that, but I had food poisoning yesterday afternoon and evening, so perhaps it’s a good thing. When the food came I thought “Hmmm, this isn’t very hot”, but it was all vegetarian so I thought I’m not likely to get ill. Ha! How wrong I was! I’m still suffering a bit now. I can’t pinpoint which was the culprit - everything was the same lukewarm temperature. Apparently, I stink of garlic too. Nice.
