Join the elite Time Stamp team for Saturday, 2pm, adventures!
Drop in to the Time Stamp Café.
    Overview:
Participants are invited to make pictures for the Time Stamp project. There is no theme this round. Photograph whatever is happening, or make something happen. However, the catch is that your picture(s) must be made at 2:00pm, your local time, on Saturday afternoon. Post your pictures (up to 3) on this thread. Sit back and await fame and recognition, and maybe a spiffy new virtual award.

If you're new to the Time Stamp idea here's the overview: here at MobiTog we have participants all over the world, in many different time zones. What if everyone made a picture at 2pm on Saturday, of whatever is going on, wherever they happen to be, and share that picture on Time Stamp. We should end up with a global snapshot of what is going on everywhere at 2 pm. This could be ordinary, humorous, puzzling, but it is bound to be interesting. The Time Stamp title comes from the metadata that is added to every new photo at the time it is shot, the creation date and time.

Rules: Please see the Rules and Guidelines for MobiChallenges posted HERE

    • Standard Mobitog image rules apply. Images must be captured/created & edited entirely on a mobile device such as a mobile phone or tablet.

    • All images must be photographed and edited between 2:00pm to 2:20pm, local time. Any editing must be done within that time frame. In other words, don't rely on extensive image manipulation or compositing. These things are allowed, but must be accomplished within the 20 minute window of opportunity. Better to concentrate on capturing a unique moment at 2pm.

Secret tip: This isn't strictly a photo contest. Good reportage or storytelling can get you lots of bonus points. Helping other people discover some place near you is another way to get bonus points. Make a connection.

    • In addition to the regular (up to) 3 images, you are now allowed to post one additional image, if you want to, to help "set the scene". This image should be described as "to set the scene" or "setting the scene", or "the location" or something similar, to clearly identify it because it won't be counted as part of your submission of 3 photos.

    • You are free to photograph something actually happening, or nothing happening, or make something happen, or to create your own image from scratch, as long as it and any added parts or layers are photographed within the 2:00 to 2:20pm window of opportunity.

NEW! Time Shift Exemption: This applies to special events happening 2 or 3 hours outside the usual Time Stamp window. If you think the event is significant enough and that others would like to see it you can claim the Time Shift Exemption and move your 2pm to fit the event. This is a test to see how it works.

Post your images to this thread.

Closing date: entries must be posted no later than 2pm the following day (Sunday). You can post your images right away after making them but if you happen to be in a situation where this is not possible, you have 24 hours.

    • Have some creative fun!

    • There will be a brief Wrap-up, after each event to discuss any observations of things of special interest.

NEW: Each week the person making the next wrap-up will be selected by the current Grand Wrapper-Upper.

Time Stamp is hereby declared an acronym-free zone.

Tips on setting alarms: you can use the Calendar app to set 2 alerts. I like to set the first alert 1 hour ahead in case I have completely forgotten (where's my phone!)(my battery is dead). The second alert I set 15 minutes ahead so I can get ready. You can create a second event at the same time for more alerts! Maybe set your alarm clock to go off right at 2pm to make you jump. Set another alarm to let you know when your time is up.

If you would like to join in the fun, just post a message below saying "I'm in!"

Further to the discussion about what really happens to recyclables when they get to the solid waste management site:
I heard on the TV news that China has been the largest buyer of plastic for recycling - in the past. They recently stopped taking new shipments. I guess they will concentrate on recycling their own plastic now. Cities with storage facilities are stockpiling recyclable plastics hoping a new buyer will appear. Cities without storage facilities will turn it into landfill.
In the end it always comes down to economics. It doesn’t seem to be enough that recycling is the right thing to do, it also has to be economically viable. And therein lies the rub. This has to change.

But if it's roasted dandelion root tea it would probably be quite tasty with eggnog! :D

Caught again with no contingency plan so just had to run outside and see what I could find in the garden.

I’m sure I have taken this before for timestamp but oh well.... Taken with portrait mode and tarted up with Hipstamatic - Benedict+Maximus LXIX+Cherry Shine Flash
    3ADFAB08-DCB7-41C4-972C-DFE30CD20C36.jpeg

Taken with Camera+ with macro mode on. Wasn’t sharp so quickly took it into Imaegine and then blended this back in IC with some adjustments.

While waiting for my friend and having wifi connection:
It's 15.30, English spoken 3.30PM and I'm sitting in another corner of our Time Stamp Café and having a – surprise!!!! – beer! After Starzee posting all those beer creations I was in the mood to taste one.

    HipstamaticPhoto-537544675.994873.jpg

It's called Coffee Porter and strange and tasty at the same time, an Altbeer with slight coffee and chocolate taste. I guess Starzee's beers are even better, but I don't know if I had been tempted to taste this without Starzee.

Now to my real TS images. Nothing bright and moving as I was on the bus to get to the cinema. Found out the bus is just around the corner of my parents and the ticket cheaper than the park house. So I tried and like it. Hipstamatic funnily turned all the best shots b/w so it looks even more like a reportage.

    2 o'clock:
This lady even offered me a piece of her cake (must look hungry ).

    HipstamaticPhoto-537541208.483966.jpg

And we've been controlled that we have a ticket.

    HipstamaticPhoto-537541243.960520.jpg

Underground clock showing the perfect time, office block looks interesting in b/w

    HipstamaticPhoto-537541231.749529.jpg

2.10 pm: We also passed the Goethe University Frankfurt (where the location for the kulinArt was last October, and sometimes other events take place).

    HipstamaticPhoto-537541812.842840.jpg

2.26 pm: out of Time Stamp, but very close to my target, the cinema.

    HipstamaticPhoto-537542763.211085.jpg

We are going to see Star Wars VIII, the Carrie Fisher memorial film. I heard from others excitement and disappointment so I'm looking forward what party I'll belong to. Will pop in again later for a coffee latte and tell you if you like. CU!

Time Stamp is certainly good practice for being able to come up with something interesting on cue.
It is amazing to me that you have flowers in bloom. Our weather just went from -15°C to +15°C in 48 hours. Then heavy rain and almost all the snow is gone. Just a couple of days ago I was out snowshoeing! Now it’s time for rubber boots.

At 2pm we were just arriving home, after visiting the Portuguese café (nothing like as cosy as the TS café) with my brother, who’d pop over for a visit. I had hoped that we’d be at Peterborough Cathedral at 2pm, but we left there at 1.30pm:(. We’d visited the tomb of Catherine (or Katherine) of Aragon, Henry VIII’s first wife (and also his sister-in—law ) who is buried in the cathedral. It was the annulment of this first marriage that led to the schism with the Catholic church, Anne Boleyn’s marriage and beheading, four more weddings, several funerals etc etc.

So, like ImageArt Ann, I had to scurry around to find something to photograph.

Can you believe that this rose has survived sub-zero temperatures, snow and rain and it’s still flourishing?

Signs of Spring everywhere in the garden. I can’t wait!:)

And then inside for a rose from my birthday bouquet.

Our local café serves a large variety of beer, including their own, so it seems natural to me that the Time Stamp Café would also have beer.
There’s lots of interesting things to see from your bus. I would have to drive 1.25 hours to get on a bus.

Great images Gouvy. I love the edits. Ooo yes, come in and let us know what you thought of the film. I’ll be over by the fire with a soya hot chocolate, hiding it from Catherine who wants to put eggnog in it.

At 2pm today, my dog was scared because the router made a single beep. She is curled up, looking sad, on a gorgeous crocheted rug I made. At the time of posting this, she is now hiding under my desk despite no further beeps. Image1515867607.494705.jpg

Awwww, poor pup. My dog is just the same. He hates the smoke alarm. And when the battery gets low it chirrups like a noisy bird and Benson gets scared.
