Yeah, sorry it was done on a DSLR from a distance. Will have to upload it to Flickr and put a link here.

I think normally two, I think , but either she is the hottest girl of the very attractive or there are too less girls and too many boys in this pond.

No, I think they are kind of tree frogs, means that foamy something is a mix of his and hers and will stick to something. The babies will grow in there till they slip out of their eggs and fall into the water or until the tadpoles are strong enough to wriggle (remember all they have is a tail) over soil to the near water.

    My last day in paradise!

Malaysia has 10 types of hornbills and on Langkawi there are 3: Oriental Hornbill, Great Hornbill and Wreathed Hornbill. We saw all three although only the Wreathed at a distance. The Great and Wreathed are so big that you hear their wings flapping before you often see them and the Great Hornbill sounds like a dog barking.

With an iPhone this is the best shot I could get of the Oriental Hornbill which is much smaller and more prolific than the others.

    Both photos processed with Snapseed

Langkawi is just nature overload but you really do need a DSLR to get photos of so many of the birds and animals. Tom has got some stunning photos that can only be taken with a zoom but I did get a bit of footage which he didn't get :D. Had to save it as a low res gif to load it here:

And it's doubly beautiful Ann to see through your eyes bcs it's so clear that you so value these opportunities, and you respect the people and the country and the wildlife --- and you're very generous with your images and explanations!

I've seen some of his work - spectacular (in a modest way, if that's a reasonable expresssion o_O). I love his stark rickshaw images. And the cover image of the Large (?) Creatures book. And many others.
Are there any sneak peeks of the Feng Shui ms available ?

Hope your trip happens - what a photo essay you two could produce!

Thanks Jen. I do feel extremely privileged to travel like I do. I never dreamt that I would have the opportunities that have come my way and I have grown to love my forays into the nature world more than anything. Fortunately, Tom's interest has grown along with mine. When I first got him interested in birds he just liked to photograph the big flamboyant ones but he admitted on this holiday that now he gets excited by all of them.

I shall have to get a macro lens for my iPhone 7 - it was sorely missed on this holiday.

I wondered how I was going to get any images back here in Hong Kong that could compete with my Langkawi ones but I forgot that this is the time of the year for one of my favourite flowering trees. It's called either the Hong Kong Orchid Tree or the Purple Orchid Tree and I actually turned down the saturation a bit on the 2nd photograph, the flowers are that vivid!
