I think there is still time to submit your iPhone artwork to the LA Mobile Arts Festival 2012 (August 2012) if there's an interest. No need to print your work - submitted electronically.

On a side note, here's a poster I submitted for consideration by the Festival - based on their theme of early flight / pioneers:

I found it a bit confusing, as in how to submit my images. I wish they'd write in plain English,, anyhow I think I've sent in my 5 images. I also wrote a proposal to them regarding a video+music show, but I haven't heard any word back from the organisers...so I shall wait and see.

As I understood it, you can either email images or join IPA and submit images to the groups associated with the Festival. Surprised you haven't at least gotten an acknowledgement for you video+music show - the Festival is now just two months away.

Is anyone here participating in this, or planning to attend?

I didn't think they had actually said who is definitely taking part yet? They sent out letters about who was shortlisted on friday. I may be taking part (three images shortlisted) but cannot come as it's slightly too far to travel for me....

Congratulations! I believe that if you're finally chosen, they'll come back to you with proposed sizes and some paper options.

The email i received had attached a price list for the options for sizing and finish/mounts. One of my images was for the daguerrotypes and they decide the size of those (5 x 7). The others i chose size and price based on how much i charge for other images of mine of the same size elsewhere. I also chose the finish based on the style of the images. (watercolour rag paper as it happens).

Sounds like we are all getting different sorts of emails at different times.....

My email was similar to the one you describe, and I'm having a piece included among the daguerreotype-style images as well.

I received similar information. I wrote an email to Daria and Nathaniel about the size. They want to see my file and they will suggest a size. I will probably print on the Kodak Metallic...it's based on the image and title. But I will wait and see what they say.

Yes, that's the email I received as well. They're turning one of the rooms into a Mobile Botanical Garden and calling it Mobilis Botanica, and I may have pieces in that room! :D This show is going to be amazingly beautiful and creative - I wish I could go!!

I have 4 short listed including a piece for the old curiosity shop which I am dying to see what they do with. I live in hope it might make it into one of the steam punk sculptures they mentioned!!!

We have already discussed sizing for my other 3 which are going into the main room (hopefully) one of mine they want very large but Daria needs to double check the file before deciding how big we can go.

I do have my fingers crossed one of my macros will be picked, but all my awesome bug shots were pre-olloclip so not sure if my dandies will be interesting enough. I have been scouting for bugs lol for last min entries but dead of winter and bugs just don't go hand in hand lol.

So how many MobiTog members have been short listed?

Danny my AOTM prize came on the Kodak metallic and I fell in love, it is similar to what you actually see on an iPhone or iPad screen (especially the ipad3) it is so beautiful and illuminating..

Daria suggested the aluminum for mine, through the large one might be unmounted watercolor. Has anyone seen the aluminum prints?

I haven't seen their aluminum prints, but I exhibit almost exclusively on aluminum and I absolutely love it. It's something most people haven't seen before, so viewers get really excited about it and about how much depth and life the metal brings to the print. The two main downsides are that they are easily damaged and they can be very tricky to light properly in an exhibit space.

Thanks Cat, Lisa and Mel! Also, thanks Sita for additional info on prints.

Daria told me I could print up to 20x20 for my image. I think the metallic goes up to 16x16...I didn't even think of lighting (great point Sita).

    So excited!!!
