Anyone tried the app called Kitcam? It's brilliant. You can use the app to take your photo using the different lenses etc. it also works with video and has stabilizer for both photo abd video. It's produced by the photoforge team and that's another app i use all of the time. The downside - you can't import photos and the price is a bit more than your average price but still, i'll be using it for all my shots from now-on. http://kitcamapp.com/

Thanks for the info. I'm seriously considering buying this app and was wondering what people thought about it.

Hi, i was consious about buying quite an expensive app compared to the average price. My advice is 'will i use most of the apps devices' or 'how serious do i take my photography'. Like photoforge, it's a serious bit of kit. Hope that helps.

Apparently you can get to photos via dropbox - I haven't tried it yet though

It will be interesting to hear what folks think of it. If you use it a lot, the $8 would be worth it (app + in-app purchases).

I like it - it has a lot of hipsta like lens's and films but they are all adjustable... I 've used it with good results so far. A good replacement Cam for the iphone standard w/ zoom, exposure and focus control. And you can edit and change films and lens after shot. Good in app editing as well.

There's a YouTube video which shows off its features. Looks comprehensive but not sure about the rather cluttered UI. Blux Camera has showed us what can be done with a clean, clinical interface but, purely on watching this video, KitCam looks a little, dare I say it, old fashioned.

I'm not convinced yet. I already have PhotoForge2 with the excellent Pop!Cam addon and that does everything I need at the moment. The built in camera is of no use to me because I shoot using other apps such as the excellent 6x6 or 645Pro.

    RoseCat,

You should try Blux Pro. It is unlike any other camera app. I think it has a lot of potential and the interface is fantastic.

KitCam is worthy of try. :) It beats Camera+ and rank #1 in Photp & Video category on App Store. But will it stay high rank in the next week? I don't think so.

I am loving Kit Cam except that unless I run it through another App my posts are sideways:
A nice abstract but the light is hanging from the ceiling

I splashed out out on it yesterday. As a camera it is on par with Pro Camera and similar. One good feature is the reticules. On (for example) Pro Camera, the user needs to specify in setting whether the reticule is to be single fixed, single or double. In Kitcam a two finger tap brings up the two moveable reticules. A single finger tap brings back single. Single tap on the reticule locks it. Very nice.

The films and lenses are IMHO much better than Photoforge2's popcam. In fact, the Blowout lens and newsprint film combo is one of the best B&W effects I have seen in an app.

The live effects are fast with no noticable lag.

The in app purchases are expensive for what you get but as each purchase only unlocks an additional 3 films / lens / frames respectively they are not really necessary as 12 lenses, 27 films and 17 frames come as standard.

Only real negative that I have noticed so far is that it does rip through battery life. It would not be recommended to use for a full days photo walk etc

Overall well worth the price tag.

I seem to have focusing issues but that isn't always a bad thing - still my favorite camera!
